UPDATE: Still Available
(09/03/2013) Apparently has a cooling pressure problem.
“Up for sale is a 1948 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. This is an awesome jeep, but it needs to go to someone who can drive it more. This jeep has many modern upgrades that has made it much easier and safer to drive, it has been converted to a 12V system, has had lap seatbelts installed, electric fuel pump, lockable front hubs, and a tilt steering column with power steering. It has a Carter YS single barrel carburetor that has just been rebuilt. It was restored approximately ten years ago by the previous owner and had the frame and body cleaned and painted top to bottom inside and out. The jeep has the original frame and body, with the engine and transmission being rebuilt approximately four years ago, also the original transfer case and axles all in great shape. Both differentials have had new fluid with in the last 50 miles.
The jeep runs and drives but upon start up the cooling system has a lot of pressure and prevents it from being driven for long distances. It ran and drove no problem when we stored it and after a year we got it back out replaced the fuel pump, head gasket, and had the carb rebuilt, but still has high pressure in the cooling system. In the photos you will notices aftermarket seats and tail lights, both can be converted back with minor fabrication. Included in the sale is a set of original seat frames (not pictured). Please email for additional information or pictures”
