UPDATE: **SOLD** Was listed at $600.
This shouldn’t last long. It’s got an overdrive and it runs! If it were near me I’d buy it.
“1955 Willy’s Jeep with 44,739 original miles. Quite a collector’s item. The engine number is 4J94860 and the vin number is 5754818451. An overdrive has been added to the drive train. It has the original 4 cylinder motor and runs. The carburetor has been rebuilt including a new accelerator pump. It has new spark plugs, a new battery, and the tires are in good shape. $600. OBO. If the new owner wished to keep the original 4-cylinder motor, he may want to install a new fuel pump.”
Way too tempting. I like that it has a left over M38a1 floor also.
That is a screaming deal
That’s only about 10 hours away from my house, I think I need to call him.
Well I will know today after 10am if I am the new owner of this CJ. One other person in front of me. I hope they don’t show up.
Best of luck on ya Joe. It was painful not to be able to pull the trigger on this one, it’s only 8 hours west from me.
Thanks Brett, I spoke with the owner and his dad had this since 1960 it runs and drives and it also stops. It will be a 10 plus hour drive if I get it but well worth it.
I am the proud new owner of this very sweet 1955 CJ5 :):):):)
Sweet Joe! Good luck!
BTW, I’d be curious to know if it has the Hudson Steering Mod.
Awesome! Whats the story with the other buyer?
Brett, the other buyer did show up and test drove it but it keep stalling out so he told the owner he wasn’t going to buy it. So he called me and I said yes I want it.
I am not sure what the Hudson steering Mod is??? I would like to know more about that.
It sounds like the seller knew about the stalling issue with him stating it may need a new pump. The fact that is starts and drives and stops is well worth the $600. I’m sure you will get it running just fine. Congrats again on the new addition.
Thanks Brett. Should have it in a week or two.
Sounds like a great deal ! Remember Dave dropped this right in your lap, think about making a little donation to help keep this place alive !
Thank you I will do that.
Joe,
The Hudson mod was a way to improve the steering for a jeep. It looks like the jeep has a Hudson wheel, which made me think the mod had been used.
