No updates tonight.
I will be in Seattle for a week or more at the end of July, beginning of August. I’m pulling Biscuit’s engine and replacing the TH350 tranny for a T-18 (still have to locate that). I’ll also be dropping by the Northwest FC Get Together in Tacoma in early August.
On my way to Seattle, I was hoping to drop by the MVPA’s international convention in Portland (July 25-27th), but now am not sure whether I’ll have the time or not. Anyone going to that?
One of these days I’ll be joining the MVPA and going to that meet. There’s a big MVPA meet near Sacramento in the Fall I’d like to check out, too.
I parked my military FC next to some MVPA members at the ATHS National Meet in Yakima, WA two months ago. They were a great group of guys and gals. They told me about the Portland meet. If I hurry up and retire some year, I could hit that show, then stay the week in Washington until the Northwest Get-Together the following weekend. (…but that would mean that I would need a little more peer pressure so I can finish my army truck. lol) Towing’s a drag…

Steve… Try to make it to the MVPA convention if you can. Tri City Military Vevicle Club will be “swimming” a 1944 DUKW from Kennewick WA to Portland on the Columbia River. I will be on board for the trip! We will be doing DUKW rides on Thu, Fri and Sat for the convention. Come and take a ride with us! Art Moore
Thanks for the encouragement, Art. Now I really want to go! But I don’t think I can take the time away from work. I’ll check tomorrow and see if I can escape my responsibilities for a week, plus travel time (two days each way). (or, pawn it off on someone else. I can make it up to them later when they want time off.)
I just realized…. that’s a long boat ride. Heck, it’s a long car ride! Someone with an aircraft (chopper?) needs to get photos of that! I’d be jazzed to get a “duck” ride on the weekend.
I’ll talk to my boss,

Oops, I thought I found a way to edit the post. It did make the edit, but it sent it again.
Dave, does this mean we have to find you a T-18? O.K., we’ll bird dog it. I forgot which engine you have in Biscuit. I imagine you need a bell housing, too.

I’ve got a Buick 231, but mine is an automatic. I’ve got a deal set up with Daryl in Bonney Lake for another 231 with the flywheel, bell housing, etc. I’m positive I can track down the right T-18 when I get up to Seattle.
You could stop by Herm the overdrive guys places in Brush Prairie (out side of Vancouver) and get your trans from him on your way through.
Marty, I’ll arrange a visit. Whether we work out a deal or not, I’m sure it will be interesting to visit his place. I also need to stop by Don Prine’s place. I’d like to learn more about that Pontiac 4 cyl he runs.
