This a MB-like jeep built on a 3A chassis.
“This MB-3A jeep is a completely rebuilt CJ3A frame and running gear with one of our (D&L Bensinger’s) new, reproduction MB-2A body kits installed to make this look like a WWII jeep. It is perfect for parades and reenactments.
The jeep has a new wiring harness,12-volt system, used combat wheels and tires, new seat frames and cushions. Also includes top bows but no top. New spare tire with repro combat wheel included.

Hello, just my 2 cents. I’ve built many flat fenders. I now own a 1945 cj2a which is a very rare jeep. I do not believe $19,000 is a fair price for a non ww2 MB/GPW or a Jeep that is no longer a correct cj3b. Although the body is clean and looks great the collectible value of the Jeep was totally lost with the transformation from CJ to WW2 clone. It is a great looking Jeep and I believe it would bring a good amount of money but a price of $19,000 seems soooo far out of the realm of what the values truly are. Even a correct and original ww2 or VEC is pushing it to be priced at $19,000. Just my 2 cents and good luck.
Over the years we’ve had many requests from customers who could not find an original WWII jeep, but found many CJ2A and 3As, with rusted out bodies, at reasonable prices. These customers continually asked if they could put a WWII body onto a CJ2A chassis. A few years ago we developed just such a body; what we call the MB-2A. This body allows all the visual features of the WWII jeep but will mount on the 2A/3A chassis with the T-90 transmission. The jeep shown here is exactly that. No, it is not a “judgeable” jeep but we find very few of our customers are involved in judging. Most want a reliable jeep to drive for recreation, parades and reenacting.
It is true that the amount of work done to this jeep – rebuilt motor, completely rebuilt chassis, all new brakes, brand new reproduction body, etc. – would be similar to the amount of work done to an actual MB or GPW with the exception of adding NOS-type parts for judging. So the labor involved in restoring either type is almost identical. The savings involved would be not using NOS parts and not having to find an original MB or GPW to start with.
The CJ2A/3A is a much better jeep for driving, particularly if you are going to be involved in some of these convoys that are becoming very popular in the military collector clubs. The crankshaft balancing and construction of the civilian engine is much better than the MB/GPW engine and the T-90 transmission is far superior in it’s reliability than the T-84.
It is true, if you are looking to compete in judging, this is not the jeep you want. But if you want a ground-up rebuilt vehicle, this is what we are offering.
This jeep has been sold. Thanks for looking.
