Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “3 – M38A1 “Nekaf” Dutch Army Willys Jeeps. The red and green jeeps are 1956 models, and the white one is a 1960. I have titles for all three. All three are original and haven’t been “civilianized”, as they have their original 24V electrical systems. Most everything is there, they all need repair / rebuild. New tires on the red jeep.”
I remember seeing these on WMJ a while back. Had to dig. Looks like the guy was ambitious with great plans and hasn’t done anything with them for over a year.

Back in the early 90’s I was there in Hereford and somebody had a BUNCH of M38A1’s from Europe, I’m sure these were part of that batch
I visited Southeastern Equipment in Augusta, GA back in the early 1980’s and they had a field full of these Jeeps. Most of the bodies were either really rusty or fiberglass, but they all seemed to run well. They were beat up from being stacked from transport or perhaps stuffed in containers, they must have purchased them very cheaply. On another later visit they were rebuilding them and shipping them off to some South American country painted an unusual metallic brown.
