UPDATE: Leo discovered this jeep sold for $15,000 at the in-person auction on Saturday April 20th.
WOW! Doug just spotted this early VEC. It is listed as a 1945 and looks wonderfully stock, with full floaters, column shift, three data tags and (I think) square bolt heads on the windshield.
Where are the tool indents?
Hugh, I think they are visible in that third picture, but barely visible.
another WOW; it apparently sold for $15.000 !!!

Wow! Thanks Leo for following up on that.
Are the picture colors off or did it fade tremendously?? It doesn’t appear to be either Harvest Tan or Pasture Green to me. I don’t understand the attraction at $15K for it, yes it is rare but it appears to be an older repaint and not in that good of a shape. Perhaps now is also the time to sell my floorless 45 without an engine for the big bucks???
It must have been solid, perfectly stock, and ran . . . those are the only reasons I can determine why it went for so much.
Somebody must had added a zero when the entered the sale price.
Somebody with more money than brains bought that.
An unrestored VEC that ran and was solid sold for more than $30k last month. So, if this runs, the seller could potentially make some good money relisting it. The market is really valuing these unrestored VECs.
These early Jeeps seem to be turning into Bugattis according to the prices paid !!
