This is a hanging window sign from the late 50’s about when the FC’s came in. A very rare beautiful sign, and highly sought after. He’ll have very heavy hitters chasin’. I had one from an old Willys dealer in Rangeley, Maine, bought at a divorce fire sale, which hung in my quonsett until it collapsed from snow load. Sadly we parted at Hershey, raising money for the rebuild, but didn’t lack potential buyers. I remember one player saying, “You’ll never get that much!” only to return an hour later waving C Notes at an empty shelf. If you’ve got one, cherish it.
Glenn, if you recall, my buddy Jim Sullivan, with the yellow Jeepster, has one of these hanging in his garage. He brought it back from Pennsylvania and he didn’t pay a fortune for it then, but it is worth several hundred now.
Went to see the sign today, it is nice. The seller bought the old Jeep Dealership in Raleigh about 20 years ago and he’s been holding the sign since. It looks like it was another color above and below the main part that has faded. He’s looking around $1000 and he has an offer on the table just waiting for the $$$$ but still taking offers.
