Eric’s ’46 CJ-2A Runs for the First Time in Years

Just look for the smile after Eric gets done driving. You can tell he is very pleased about saving this jeep.

He writes, “After several years of sitting and hard work behind a plow in West Virginia, I saved this Jeep from a fate worse than death. Now alleviated of it’s burden and with a rebuild carb, cleaned out fuel tank an fresh battery it now moves around as it should. It was great driving a CJ2A again after 30 years.”

You can see another ’46 he picked up that included a PTO and Lift, though it had no engine.

Eric, good job!You saved another jeep from eternal sleep! And you got to experience the sounds and feel of an old flatfender! That is what I am going to enjoy as well sometime soon when I get my GPW running again after not driving it for close to thirty years.Even if at first it is out in the field like Eric.It is just one of those things that I have put off for too long.E-WILLYS has definitely got me craving Jeeps again! Thanks,Dave!

Thanks, Doug. e-williys was my inspiratin as well. After the carb clean and tank flush I had to cut the wiring down to the smallest common denominator. Hot lead touched to starter to get is spining, remove and touch hot lead on coil to hot lead on battery and hold there via alligator clip. Only trouble is when I stalled it I had to get out open the hood and start all over again. LOL

That lift on the other one looks like a Newgren, that has had a few parts added and a few parts taken away. Nice find.
