UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(08/17/2012) This has some rare coil springs installed on the rear. The seller is a little confused about the CJ-3B. The overload springs shown in the first pic might be an earlier version of the Canfield Springs shown in the brochure in the following post.
“1953 CJ3B (M38A1 early model) rebuilt trans and transfer case. Half cab, have new bed floor and end gate. $2500. Not interested in trades. If interested please respond wiht your phone contact (to help weed out scams). Thanks.”
It was probably an m38a1c with the 106 recoiless rifle.
The helper springs are Koenig units, so it probably had its share of heavy loads in its life !
I think you’re right, Leo. Look at how the rear bed is heavily dished.
Still, it generally looks pretty good in the photos, and it sounds like he’s throwing in a new taligate and bed replacement piece.
I am not sure who supplied the springs for the military but that is what all m38a1c jeeps had to help with the extra weight of the gun. M38a1’s dont have tailgates out of the factory, they cut out the rear panel on the gun jeeps.
