UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This looks nice enough, but if you look at the pic under the driver’s side it has a piece of channel welded to a body mount. That seemed odd to me.
“Wow its very hard to call any Military truck a NUMBER ONE,but this stunning 1954 Willys M38A1 is pretty close, they never even left the factory like this! You could eat your dinner off of her and with a RUST FREE body and 11,366 miles from new she is very rare too! So in the spirit of a real auction she is for sale at NO RESERVE! But because quality always makes good money, she will not go cheap, but you will love showing her! Find another show worthy 1954 M38A1 that will actually get a new owner at the end of auction!!!! BID NOW! Its your only chance!”
The channel on the body mount is correct for the m38a1…but unfortunately, the rear floor on this jeep is not.
Incorrect carburetor too. And the description says it has aftermarket air conditioning?
Andy, do you know the purpose of the channel? Was it always used? I had a mid 50s M-38A1 frame a while back and don’t remember seeing it, but maybe somebody removed it.
I checked my 1954 M38A1 and it does not have that channel. I wonder what it was used for?
Pretty Jeep, and probably worth more than the currebt bid.
The statement ” never any rust period” seems not to be true if the entire rear floor had to be replaced and there is rust bubbling up shown in the underbody photos.
Maybe the lister mistook the large cables on the 24 volt generator as an air conditioning compressor? Obviously wrong plug wires.
I don’t see a heater or AC
I do see blank dash plates, and an RMC engine serial.
