Walter spotted this CJ-2A. How about that unique rack on the front? Given that bumper, this was some kind of purpose-modified jeep. The body doesn’t appear too bad either. Maybe that rack was on a car truck?

That bumper rack is for holding fishing poles.
Ditto Brett….got a customized rig for my front bumper that I slide on and off….beats holding a long rod when surf fishing….plus can mount several flags for race weeks….
Agree, surf fishing rig. The rack on the hood would have held a large cooler in place.
Perhaps the rack came off of a boat?
I had a friend from new york back in college that had a similar set up on the front of his f250. he used his for flounder fishing. we called his truck the flounder tugger.
