UPDATE: **SOLD** $1500.
(09/27/2012) This appears in good shape. It might be a good value.
“So here it goes. I have decided to put my beloved ’52 Willys up for sale. I have 3 little kids and I just don’t have the time needed to get it perfect. My game plan has been to replace and fix parts when I can, and it has most of the hard work done. I have not started it. I was going to get it 95% there (for cost reasons) and have it towed to a Willy’s expert to get the engine dialed in perfect since I am not a mechanic. It has the original L134 4 cyl engine, T90 transmition, Dana 18 transfer case, everything else is original 6V.
Here is a list of the new parts I have added (at quite a cost I might add!!)
-new distributor cap, points, plugs, wires
-new Oil Filter canister (that was missing on most of these Jeeps)
-new belt
-new hoses
-new gas tank
-new gas line
-new fuel sender unit
Changed all of the oil and fluids”
For the money this would be a great start for somebody.
I wonder if you have to bring your own wheels? It does look like a good, solid rig. If I needed a Jeep, I’d drag a trailer down to San Franfreakshow and pick it up.
**Steve E.**
That’s a twist on Bring a Trailer… bring your own wheels. Los Gatos is down near San Jose – a more arid climate means less rust from those infamous fogs of San Francisco.
How about “Bring a trailer, and a forklift.”
(O.K., I’m not as funny as I think I am.)
