“1951 M38; while NOT restored this jeep is very solid; its been converted to 12 volt; has new steel tub; starts easy and runs well. Some parts such as seats not authentic. More photos available. Selling to buy a different military vehicle and hope it goes to a good home! $6,900. ”
The tailgate is a civilian model, the military tailgate didn’t have the Willys logo and it also had inner reinforcements where the spare tire bracket and jerry can mounted. The spare tire mount on this Jeep is an unusual combination of parts which appears to be way weaker than original and will ultimately cause the tailgate to crack and possibly drop the spare tire during use.
