UPDATE: Here’s an updated picture of the final deck in case anyone was interested. You can view more about the project here: http://www.deilers.com/deck/
However, I do have a couple quick updates on what we’ve been doing. Much of our time has been consumed by a deck rebuild for my parents (it turns out Ann is great with power tools!). Below are a couple shots. The first photo shows how bad it looked after we pulled up the decking. The second shows the deck partially done. There was quite a bit of rot in those joists.
Nice job. You were right about the wood rot. If you ever make it to Daytona Beach area, let me know, my wife wants a new deck off the back of our house and you come with good references. I’ll supply prenty of cold beverages, and the beach is only 5 blocks away.
Ann looks great AND is great with power tools?? You made a great choice, Dave…
Nice work Dave. What’s the structure with the roof on the right-hand side?
Wow… Nice job. Had no idea that deck was so involved.
Looks like you two did a nice job. See, I told you earlier this year that girl was a keeper! Anne, make Dave cook you up one of his specialties!
Ann and Dave,
Ya’ll do nice work. My wife (Joanne) and I just had to replace a deck at our place in TX. Lik your Ann Joanne is good with the tools and not afraid to tackle about anything.
Those two did an awesome job. However, Ann says she has had enough deck work for a while. I am sure David will show the finish product. The structure to the right is a gazebo that covered our hot tub, which we removed.
The finished product looks great. You did a fine job, all three of you!!
