That looks to me like an external oil filter.
Interesting. All of the filter containers that I’ve seen have a curved lid with a single bolt to seal it
I had a dual external in biscuit for a while. This looks to me like a single version of the model that I had, which is why it looks familiar to me. But, I could be wrong about this . . .
