This Surrey was for sale last year also by Carriage House in Greenwich, CT. I think they were asking about double what they are asking now. This is a very nice Surrey, not totally restored to original as the top is not right and there are a few other things, as well. The description says it has the F-head engine, which is probably a mistake by the person who wrote the ad. A lot of folks think the F-head is another name for the the flathead engine. We have all run into those folks, I know. If you put a true F-head under the hood of a Surrey, you would probably have to punch a hole in the hood for the carb. All in all, this is a pretty nice Surrey. I think I have the serial number for it in my database, but will have to check.

The auction pics show a stock flathead with the DJ specific manifold, etc,so Colin is right that it is an uninformed writer of the eBay listing.

The correct seat upholstery material is only available by dying your own, so it is understandable that the backs and sides of the seats were not made with the striped material……and I seem to remember a few early pics showing variants on the striping/ solid areas. It is a very nice jeep, one I’d be proud to own but the little details missed would drive me nuts. Very nice job on the bumper chrome, but the right step seems askew… I bet someone bumped it by mistake before the pics…

Definitely a better buy than my Katrina Surrey.,
