UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
(08/15/2012) The seller neglects to mention the lack of tool indents on the body.
“You are looking at my 1945 Willys Jeep with 3 speed on the column. Very sought after jeep as it is true to the descripition or history I have looked up on the Net as to column shift. There was only 1824 made the first year as they were made with the last of the war jeeps that came down assembly line. Now about this jeep. it was given a new body and paint, Paint color is harvest tan and if you go to color code for 1945 at kasier willys catalog it is a brown like color. it has had all wiring replaced, It is still original 6 volt but with new wires. Engine was gone through a few years back and purrs like a kitten. All numbers match as being the frame tag, inner hood tag and the dash tags. All shown in the pictures. There is no rust. Only problem area is around windshield frame as it might need fixed in a few years but does not look bad at this time. i also have the original hitch that goes to the jeep as it needs painted and bolted on. Really nice original hitch. I have had several comments on how unique it is and it turns alot of heads when it rides down the road. As many people see the old military jeeps from that year but hardly see a CJ2A civilian jeep today.”
Not a horrible price for it, considering the $30,000 jeeps out there! Wonder what the deal with the tool indents is? It’s a little “pimped” for me with the chrome and newer soft top, but that could be changed easily.
Did any early CJs come with glove boxes in the dash? Then there is the easy fix stuff like spare wheel mount, taillights, headlight bezel color, wheel color. Nice work, such as it is, good luck to the seller.
Dutch .. nope. There weren’t any general production CJ-2As with glove boxes.
repli-tubs are (were) frequently M38, like this one. This is an old restoration.
I emailed him to try to buy the original body, but it was thrown out. That really sucks to trash a good VEC body for one of these replicas.

That’s not quite the harvest tan I’ve seen on original jeeps. Overall though it’s not bad for the money.
