UPDATE: Still Available
(08/19/2011) Bob spotted this DJ-3A that was mistakenly listed as a Jeepster.
“Selling a project 1956 Willys Overland Jeepster (DJ3A) that I just don’t have the time for. It hasn’t been started in a few years, but it did run before being stored.
Has the canopy top frame, w/no canvas. You’ll need a car trailer to pick it up.
Have a title in hand. Please call Allen for more details – 330.428.2288 CASH ONLY, NO TRADES.”

Looks to me like it’s 4wd too
I just got off the phone with Allen, the seller and he is going to forward me the serial number to add to our growing database of DJ3A numbers. He thought it was 4WD from the factory, but I was able to convince him that DJ3As were only 2WD. It does have a very early 1956 speedometer, only goes to 8, not 9, has no tailgate, the air cleaner is DJ3A. Allen knows it is not a Jeepster, but it got listed that way by mistake. Hopefully, we willlearn a bit more about this little Jeep.
I didn’t know there was a difference between speedometers. Is there no end to the variations between models/years/jeeps? 🙂
That’s the first time I have seen that little air cleaner….Wonder If he’d sell that separate? I noticed the speedo too, with its art deco numbers…neat!
Wonder if I should go take a look at this on my way home from work tonight?
Gosh, We’re learning here. Just went to the garage and looked at my little Yellow DJ3A, the 488th one built in ’56 model year. I’ve got that same speedo, but the wrong air cleaner. Hope we get the VIN for this one.
Bob .. if you have the time, can you snag the VIN for this?

I want to go look at this, but at the same time I don’t want to go look at this…does that make sense? I might end up buying it if I go look at it.
