UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2200
This might not be a bad price considering it has an overdrive. It doesn’t have a title though.
“1953 M170 Jeep, Buick 225 V-6, overdrive, rebuilt carb, new water pump, new gas tank, new electric fuel pump, new tie rod ends, new alternator, new points, plug, wires and rotor cap, new battery, new clutch fork and throwout bearing, includes tow bar. Runs great! No title. I would like to get this out of my garage this weekend”
Did they make an M-170 with the standard passenger door opening? Never saw one. Pretty cool rig either way. The no title thing is really a PITA to deal with.
Oh Jesus … how did I miss the opening. I think as soon as I saw the M-38A1-like grille, I switched to autopilot.
According to this website: http://www.m38a1.com/Models/models_m170.htm The production date is correct for a M-170, as they were first built in October of 1953. Maybe someone through a CJ-6 body onto the M-170? Strangely, the one above has a patch where the original M-170 gas tank inlet should be. Compare it to this picture: http://www.m38a1.com/images/History/h_M170.jpg
It has the correct reflector on the passenger-side rear corner. It also has reversed front springs, suggesting military.
This should have a battery box, too.
This one has me a bit perplexed.
