This price looks good. This runs and drives and has a PTO, but the 4wd doesn’t work. Also, this seems a bit late for a split windshield.
“1961 Willys Overland Jeep CJ5- 2.2L F Head 4 Cyl, T90 three speed transmission, Dana 25/27 differentials, 4×4 with high and low gears (4 wheel drive is not operable at the moment but drives in low or high gear). Also, has a built in PTO. Bolt on towing hitch for hauling places with tow lights. This Jeep is a classic piece of Jeep History. Vehicle can be restored or driven as is. Runs and drives good. New Battery and just recieved the new brake master cylinder.”
This looks good! Does anyone know if cj5s have more leg room than a cj3a? 🙂
They are on the same 81″ wheelbase, so I suspect there isn’t much more. I do know that customizing the seating can make a huge difference.
Is this a m38a1, split wiindshield and a battery box on the cowl?
Roy, I don’t think so. The headlights don’t look to me as inset as they would be on a M-38a1. CJ-5s came with battery boxes and lids, though batteries weren’t in them. Also, there were some CJ-5s with split windshields (though someone said they were only an option). Finally, even early CJ-5s came with reversed front shackles, like the M-38A1.
I suspect the windshield isn’t original OR the titled year is wrong.
