UPDATE: Was $14,000. **Status Unknown**
hmmm .. a ‘1947’ CJ-3B with a ford engine for $14,000. . . .
“1947 WILLYS JEEP All original metal cab, 3 speed transmission, NEW Engine- Totally Rebuilt 4 Cylinder Overhead Ford, This rebuild cost me $4,000. New Drive line, New Radial Tires. The body is straight!! No Dents Or Dings….. This jeep also has a tow bar so you are able to take it anywhere. There is not anything wrong with this jeep, it runs great and can get you just about anywhere. I am only selling it because i do not have any use for it.”
You’d be out of your mind if you bought this for 14K
Not only that, but CJ3B Jeeps weren’t introduced until 1953. This guy obviously doesn’t know much about Jeeps or the people who buy them!!
According to the ad, it’s a new engine that’s been totally rebuilt. I don’t usually rebuild new engines. Someone must have told him it was an F-head, and he assumed the F stood for Ford. I’m wondering why he’d put $4000 into an engine in a vehicle that he says he doesn’t have any use for. Certainly entertaining though.
wait! paint it olive drab….say it’s WW2 vintage…..oh yeah, it’s a fresh barn find. some sucker will snap this up in a heart beat. i mean some connoiseur of fine vintage will snap this up…..
