Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I may be wrong in my thinking but I thought leftys were really rare? If so, dont you think this is a bit under priced? Pics look good. Although, the price may be right with it not being stock.
According to Service Bulletin 48-27 that Bill Norris had/has the spare tire was changed to comply with the law in a few states. (http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/service-bulletins_topic8144.html)
Starting with SN# 176061 (03/03/48)
Ending with SN# 185769 (04/14/48)
The same service bulletin notes that a mounting kit (part no 670504) was available to mount the spare wheel to the tail gate. So, some of the spare tires mounted on tailgates were stock, too.
