This Jeep has a fiberglass tub? Sure looks like rusty metal and bondo to me, I guess some talented artist could have faked the rusty areas and the cracked/bulging body filler.
I had thought the same thing, yet some of the pictures (ones that I didn’t post I guess) do show extensive fiberglassing underneath the body. It left me scratching my head a bit.
The rear wheel well picture shows what appears to be fiberglass cloth applied over the metal body panels. It seems to me a layer of fiberglass cloth applied to only one side of a rusty body panel would only accelerate the rusting process by holding moisture against the steel. I’ll add this to the “What were they thinking?” file.
In spite of that, this is an eastern Jeep that needs to be checked out by a potential serious first-time buyer. It has both PTO’s, it seems to be complete, the owner says it runs well, and it appears to have been registered so that means it probably has a title. The price isn’t too bad either.
Maybe he has a fiberglass tub laying somewhere for it, but not pictured. I don’t see a front PTO???
I eventually exchanged emails with Tom. He noted the tub was fiberglass and didn’t mention he had a spare tub.
