Unless they painted some of them different, it does not seem to be pink enough and the wheel wells are the wrong color. That being said, it sure looks nice enough.

If you look at the eBay photos of the engine compartment, you can see the original Tropical Rose paint showing through. So I think it has at least one repaint in the past 50 years. The interior and side curtains look to be in fair condition other than a tear on one of the curtains. Haven’t seen a Surrey before with a partial Jeepster beauty bar on the front bumper, so maybe that was added on by a previous owner. All the original title docs are listed on the ebay site for this. Don’t know what the reserve is, but probably 15+. By serial number, it was probably a late August/Sept.1959 built Surrey, as they were introduced on Sept. 28, 1959 for the 1960 model year.

Frankly, to beleive the mileage is a stretch, why would a less than 2000 mile car need a complete repaint down to repainting the entire engine compartment? There are quite a few details on this jeep that are unusual, including upholstery details, air filter, engine compartment wiring, etc.

I’d love a closer look and a chance to go over it with a fine tooth comb, as if it is genuine, then we have a lot to learn from it.

Always a possibility that the odometer quit at that mileage, difficult to think the Surrey has 1,780 miles on it. Probably more like 17,800. The upholstery on the seats isn’t quite right and the air cleaner isn’t. Where the original pink is showing through in the engine compartment indicates to me that either the engine was out of it or the body was off the chassis. Wonder what shade of pink is underneath the body?
