(03/11/2011) This has an unusual hard top.
“1953 willys flat fender, hard top. 26980 original miles. custom diamond plating. custom bumpers, cargo and tire rack. Newer bfg tires. Runs perfect. Mechanically sound. Full interior roll cage, and rocker bars. Have new 4.3L v-6 conversion motor that goes with it. Never had the heart to change it out as original motor runs so strong. Converted to 12v. That is an odd hard top, maybe it’s made for a mail jeep?
You’re right, that top does look kinda “postal jeep”-ish, if flat-fendered jeeps were used to deliver the US mail, but I wouldn’t know. I only remember the later right hand drive postal jeeps with the sliding door.
