This could be a CJ/DJ combo given the 4wd.
“I am selling my 1956 Classic “Willys” Jeep CJ-2. It is powered by a 350 cu. in. chevy V-8 (2-barrel carb.) with a 4-speed (granny low) transmission. The “Jeep” has a new battery and is equipped with a tow bar. It has a clean and clear “Texas” title in my name. It has been adult driven checking fields and for hunting but could easily be made street legal. Call for directions (325) 625-1439. Method of payment is cash or will trade for a good tractor of equal or greater value.”
I saw this jeep in person and told the guy it was a DJseveral months ago, I guess he didn’t remember. He is a tractor jockey and not known for cheap prices…I would think it is a little bit high but not too out of line.
Serial plate prefix is 56337 and it is one of the first 300 built. I am not certain about the 4 speed, I didn’t check underneath to verify what it is. It has 4 lug axles on both ends and is 2 wheel drive. Pretty solid, hood is messed up like they all are.. If you had the drivetrain to put it back to stock it would be a fairly nice start for a DJ project. And you could sell the small block Chevy to gain back some of the money. WIth stock brakes and the V8 it has gotta be scary.
