For quite sometime I have wondered where the below monument was located. I finally found out, from G503.com, where it is located. It is the Monument of Red Army WW2 drivers in Kyiv (Ukraine). Check out a variety of great pics from G503.com.
From G503 we can see the other side.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
Needs work. Runs.
“Hi, I bought this jeep a few months ago, got it running and then decided I have no need for this project… It is now running. Motor, trans, 4wd, all factory and all seem to work.. Tires in great shape. Needs a lot of work to make road worthy, or just a little to take on the trail… Let me know if you’re interested Thanks! Here’s a link to a video I made of it:”
UPDATE: I was too enamored by the white walls to notice these weren’t willys rims. Thanks Jim!
You gotta love the white walls.
“I have five 51 willys jeepster wheels up for sale. They are 5 lug wheels and with alittle cleaning they will look brand new again (978)758-1936”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2700.
This looks like a great price.
“Brown jeep has a new 304, v8 engine and is smog exempt. Green jeep is for parts, the 6 cylinder in it just lost power.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. Here’s another militarized jeep. Note there is no reserve on this. The bid price has already reached $5,665. I’m kind of surprised that the bidding has hit that height already. The ‘gun’ looks really fake in this one photo. The summary text seems fair.
It looks like in this case someone has taken a flattie in poor condition (which likely explains the missing rear wheel body areas) and turn it into something reasonably cool without investing too much money. Jim was one of the best at doing that.
“Great little jeep 98% restored as MB. Engine restored, NEW tires, intake/exhaust manifold, carb, head, fuel pump, wiring harness and rear suspension. New paint job, little rust on frame. Comes with all things seen in photo.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $750.
I can’t tell how good the body is.
“1946 CJ 2a with a world war II Ford GPW body tub. Jeep was on a deer lease since the 1970’s in central texas. NO TITLE. I had it running and it moved under it’s own power but it doesn’t run very well. Needs complete restoration or use as parts. Rusty floor boards. Tires are shot but will hold air and can load on your trailer. Good for parts or if you are so inclined could be restored. Frame is in good shape, body is restorable. Comes with four 16″ wheels and tires. also, it only comes with the drivers seat. Email with questions.”
UPDATE: Was listed at $1050. Status Unknown.
(02/28/2011) Looks like a find jeep for the price.
“This is a good running, shifting, Willys 4×4. Good brakes and clutch, decent top. This vehicle has some minor rust, but the frame is solid. Tires are good. Overall rides and drives good. There is no title.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3995
(06/18/2010) I don’t see much rust.
“4 cycle overhead valve Rare Collectors item runs great.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $3500
(03/06/2010) Brent spotted this rare M-170 …. even rarer that it’s been slightly modded.
“1964 M170 Ambulance. This is the military version of a CJ-6. It came out of Nevada and is RUST FREE. It has a Chevy Small Block 350 engine, chrome headers, M/T valve covers, dual exhaust, Warn Overdrive Unit, after market bucket seats, new VDO gauges, new battery, chrome rims, and bigger tires. This is a very rare Jeep with only 4000 to 5000 ever made. $4,500.00
Description
The M170 (MDA) is basically a stretched M38A1. Only 4155 were produced between the mid-1950s and the early 1960s. They were used as ambulances. The production information available for these vehicles suggests a much more limited production run.
Drive Train
The M170 was available with the “Hurricane” F-Head 134 I4 engine, T-90 3 speed transmission, Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle, and Dana 44 rear axle.”
