UPDATE: Mike notes in the comments that the pintle hitch was an option for the CJ-2As and bolts right up. So, this could be a CJ-2A frame with a pintle.
The serial number suggests this is a little late to be a VEC CJ-2A.

a pintle hitch was an option for the CJ2A, and if you remove the drawbar, the pintle will bolt right on a CJ2A rear crossmember just like they did on the MB/GPW’s…..
I wasn’t aware the pintle hitch was a bolt on option for the CJ-2A … I’ll update this post with that info.
