UPDATE: Price dropped to $2000
(12/06/2010) It’s a 53 with a 63 title, the reasons for that isn’t explained.
“I have a 53 cj3b for sale runs drives has new brakes on it and lines, 4 wheel drive works runs good. its pretty rust free but definatly has been around as it shows lots of scars. would like to get 2200obo it has a 63 title and is clear and tags are current and good till 2011. not top frame or back seat, has new front glass and seal. this is a high hood jeep with the overhead valve motor in it. its a little different and you dont see them around much. please contact me if you are interested. email text or call me. brad seven six zero 855 three six six five”
Haha! My ’63 had a ’53 title, maybe the two were swapped at birth.
In California if you register a vehicle and report an engine swap the vehicle is registered using the year of the engine. So if you have a 1950 Jeep with a 2000 engine it is registered as a 2000 and requires smog certification.
That’s a good point Bob.
