UPDATE: Price dropped to $3100
(08/09/2010) Neither Brett nor I can figure out what those handles on the hood do. This looks very restorable.
“I am selling my 1943 Ford GPW Jeep. Body data plate and frame data plate match. Jeep runs. Has the typical hat channel rust. Many original parts, grab handles, footman loops, and other brackets still attached. If you are the type of person that likes to work on a untouched original vehicle, this is for you. This jeep has a lot of F-marked parts and bolts. Original 6 volt system and flat head engine. I have extra parts also. This web site has more pictures on it: http://staceysgpw.mypicgallery.com/

I think those handles are for…oh wait, family website….remember the dusty Volvo picture that floated around a while back….
Yes, I think those handles must be for …. I can think of no other use (though maybe I’m just not trying … lol). I have to say that I never saw the volvo pictures …
Maybe the hood hinges were moved to the front and the handles are there to open the hood(?)
Yes, thefront the grille fits oddly, so maybe it does tilt forward or slides off?
“Kill two birds with one stone.”
The handles are also there to support the windshield when folded down.
