UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Josh is auctioning this nicely restored Capstan Winch on eBay.
He writes, “You are bidding on a WW2 BRADEN J2-134 CAPSTAN WINCH for the WW2 Ford GPW, GPA, Willys MB and Weasel. This auction is for the head unit as pictured and the Portrayal Press Capstan Winch manual. The winch is the correct war period model with the four cap screws in the head. The winch has been been sandblasted, cleaned, and painted with TM9 Ordnance Red oxide epoxy primer and TM9 lusterless Olive Drab shade #6. In the preservation of this winch I did create a custom gasket for the oil sump and will include the broken original with the sale. I also fabricated a new top cover and will also include the damage original. As you can see in the pictures the gears all look fantastic and the winch turns easily and smoothly as it should. All oil pan bolts are marked RA. The only negative things I can say about the winch are that the oil pan has a couple of dents (they could be worked out) and the area around the bottom drain plug has been brazed at one time. The drain plug does still function and the repair doesn’t appear to leak. Both of these imperfections will not easily be visible when mounted.”
is it still for sale, how much? text57422003 hundred
