Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. In order to keep costs as low as possible, Cliff and the folks down at Mississippi State University have decided to rebuild the F-head that currently powers the M-38 FireJeep they have. One of the important items they need is a replacement F-head/L-head crankshaft.
If you have one that is in good shape that you’d like to donate to the cause, let me know.

After I posted this, I thought to myself, aren’t they the same? But, I couldn’t remember if that was the case and didn’t have time to look it up. I’ve never had the opportunity to work on these motors to be honest! Thanks!

Can’t imagine what the cost would be to ship one, knowing what they weigh. I’m sure every jeep guy from new york to southern california has one lying around. Maybe someone close to them can get one to them.
