Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (11/24/09) This looks pretty stock and runs. Looks like it might be a good price.
“1946 Jeep CJ2A military style jeep. Running and in fair condition. Original 4 cylinder enjine with rebuilt carburator, generator and starter. Very original condition with little rust. Would be a great jeep to turn into that vintage rock climber you have alwasy wanted!”
I looked at this jeep in april 2009 when it was listed at 2500. So the price came down. It didn’t have a battery and the ingnition key was lost. If I remember correctly the seller aquired it in a real estate transaction and the title wasn’t transfered over to his name yet. It was stored in an outside open air barn/structure so it looked to be fairly well protected from the elements. I would agree with the sellers opinoion that it’s in fair conditon, I don’t remember seeing any rust rot and the tool compartment was intact and not rusted through. I asked if he had the hard top for it and he didn’t. It’ll probably cost at least a couple hundred to get it regestered.
