UPDATE: Still Available
(09/17/09) This is apart, though it’s unclear to me if it is completely apart.
“Up for grabs is this 1959 Jeep CJ3B. I bought it last year with plans to restore it but realised i don’t have the knowledge, time or $$! I took it apart with plans of sand blasting and repainting, but prior to that it ran pretty good. Clean title, renewed plates. Email for more info. Make me an offer, this jeep is a rare find!”
Could be either, didn’t they go to the large speedo in 1955? Anyway, I love the 1/2 doors.
On a CJ-3B serial number 57348-34452 they started using the large speedo. I might have gotten the dates confused the last time I checked the CJ-3B site (http://cj3b.info/Specs.html). That would put the first jeep to use that speedometer in early 1957 according to this page http://cj3b.info/SerialNos.html.
