There’s clearly lots of time and money put into this custom CJ-3A. If the model (cj-3a) is accurate, it’s one of probably several hundred. This has some stainless parts.
“Classic Willys, customized with all the extras. Original 1948 body, 225 Odd-fire V6 1965 Buick engine, T18 truck transmission 4 speed 7:1 ratio deep under. Power steering, power locks front and rear. Stainless steel grill and windshield, chrome rockguards, custom Emiron black paint–lots more. Rebuilt “new” in 1983, 9500 miles since and kept garaged when not in use. Over $24,000 of customized extras plus 4 years of labor. A labor of love and it kills me to part with it, but I need the money. No trades. ”
there were 2182 1948 CJ3A’s produced… serial numbers 222582-224764..
Hi Mike,
Excellent catch … my bad. Too many sites have steered me wrong. In the book “JEEP: The unstoppable legend” they list 309 CJ-3As built in 1948, but the fact you’ve got actual serial numbers suggests to me that their numbers aren’t quite right.
Thanks!
