This looks like a pretty good price for a M-38 that looks to be in great shape.

1951_cj3a_davenportUPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000.

This looks like a nice enough jeep that has been ‘restored’ nicely.  However, the claim that this is all original except for tires and wheels is not true (12 volt system, fender flares, the rear lights, and I’m sure more).

“BODY OFF RESTORATION, 1951 CJ-3A. BOX, STOCK & BAREFOOT-EVERYTHING ON THIS JEEP EXCEPT THE HORN BUTTON & TIRES & WHEELS.  EVERYTHING ELSE IS ORIGINAL 1951 EQUIPMENT, 2172 MILES SINCE COMPLETION, ENGINE & DRIVE LINE HAVE BEEN GONE THROUGH INCLUDING NEW CLUTCH, ALL NEW BRAKING SYSTEM, NEW EXHAUST, NEW LIGHTS, 12 VOLT CONVERSION, REMANUFACTURED STARTER …”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

It’s safe to say that you won’t see many rock crawlers with a slat grille.  The louvered hood is unusual as well.

1942 Ford GPW, built custom from frame up!!! Awesome head- turning JEEP toy!!! All the power of a hotrod and capability of a great rockcrawler. NO UNOBTAINIUM parts, all over the counter!!!

Wayback Machine: Old Jeeping Photos from late 70s

• CATEGORIES: Features, Racing • TAGS: , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Here’s some great old photographs from the 1970s.  They document some of the events attended by the Good Time Four Wheelers.  The image below was from the 3rd Annual Green River Valley Jeepers in 1976.  I attended one of their playdays in 1981 (I think).  It was located between Black Diamond and Enumclaw;  I wouldn’t be surprised if the area is full of homes now.

I’m suprised that as late as ’76 they weren’t requiring cages to race.  It wouldn’t be too long before they were required.  View all the pics (lots of desert dogs) at the pnw4wda forum.

Here’s an unusual find.  I can’t quite tell how good of condition it is in.  It sure looks like it is hidden in some kind of tall barn?

1954 CJ-3B Felton, Pa **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

“This is a 1954 Willy’s Jeep CJ-3B, that’s been lifted, v-8ed and customized. This thing starts and runs great and is great fun to drive! The motor and transmission are Chevy 350/350, and both work great. The duals sound great without being obnoxious.  It has power steering, and brakes, and the heater’s hooked up. I’m no jeep expert, but the remainder of the drivetrain appears fairly original equipment to me, other than obviously it was lifted. This Jeep sports 35″/12.50″/15″ radial tires and aluminum wheels, both in excellent shape. ”
