UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800
The seller claims this is a 1962 Maverick, but I understand they were only produced in 1960? Glenn believes this may just be an old inventory item that was sold the next year. He also notes the side chrome is very hard to find. It may be worth a closer look.
“This is a rare “maverick” edition. I bought it to restore but have too many projects. It does need total restoration but all parts and body panels available. It does run but smokes. Needs brake work but emergency brake works. 6cyl 3spd and its 2wd.”
Hi Dave, This looks like a great restoration candidate, especially with 2WD in 4WD country. I haven’t gone to look, but we have to remember Willys frequently retitled unsold inventory as a later year model. I’m not very far away. Maverick was a popular TV show, with Willys as a sponsor. That side chrome is a very hard to find item. Worth a look to see how much rust has raveged this rare Willys product.
Mavericks manufactured 1958 – 100 units, ’59 – 2,553 units, ’60 – 2,566 units, ’61 – 1,202 units and left overs built in ’61 probably got ’62 titles…..all wagons where 2×4…
