Not sure why the seller thinks this is a 1949 or why the engine is a 1951.
“1949 Willys jeep / with 1951 Willy jeep engine. I bought this jeep at an auction with the idea I was going to redo the whole thing and make it really nice again , I have replaced the entire suspension, leaf springs , shocks and some brackets, brand new radiator, battery, newer tires etc. I have converted it from a 6 volt system to a 12 volt system, much nicer and reliable. Remember it is 65 years old, not in perfect condition, but in good condition, runs and no mechanical issue that I know of, does have seals that leak but work, I planed to change them but did not get to it. Don’t have the time to spend on it that I would like. I have over $4000 in it. Asking $3000 or best offer.”
I viewed this Jeep at the auction he bought it from. It’s a “Frankinjeep”! Look closely at where the hood hits the windshield. The previous owner installed a 3b hood and cowl on top of a 1949 CJ3a! If you lift the hood up, the original cowl is still in place! It’s one way to fit the F-head in there!
I saw that as well after looking at the jeep for a bit.It is something different that’s for sure!
Yes, a mix of parts. Motor looks to be from an early 2wd truck, wagon or jeepster.
